Elsewhen Records new signing Lucida Sieger
International singer-songwriter Lucinda Siegar first achieved
commercial success with UK number one dance track “40 Miles”
(Congress), on which she supplied the alluring vocals. Lucinda’s
crystalline voice has since spawned musical liaisons with many
successful artists including members of Leftfield, Massive Attack and
Bronski Beat.
Her new cd, “Silver Life” hits the stores in May featuring remixes by
world music maestros, Temple of Sound and atmospheric sound-scapers,
Slipper (Loop Guru). Lucinda’s compositions successfully fuse ambient
folk, jazz and dance in varying measures. The album focuses on
creative remixes of tracks from her previous project “Heart in the Sky”
which she co-produced with Temple of Sound.
Acoustic tracks, “Now we are Here” and “Silver Life” are co-written
with gifted guitarist Reid Savage (Way of the West). In “Bread”
Lucinda combines her writing and performing talents with those of
Winston Blissett who records and tours with heavyweight musicians like
Robbie Williams and Kylie Minogue.
Lucinda’s haunting compositions, her unique voice and her talent for
interweaving a multiplicity of musical influences provide the backbone
for this masterful mix of chill out music.
Lucinda Siegar in profile
The Glasgow born diva’s early career in furniture design was soon
eclipsed by her involvement with the music world.
Lucinda appeared on the first ever live edition of Top of the Pops
wearing a giant treble clef as a headdress.
Several songs from her first album, “I believe” (1996), achieved
national airplay.
Lucinda is a cult figure in Japan as a result of her single “Sunset
Red” and has also appeared on Swedish TV with Harry Shearer (The
Simpsons)!
